Introduction
A few months ago I was in a Starbucks with a friend and we spontaneously bought concert tickets, flights, and an Airbnb all at once. Finally, the trip date rolled around and this past week, I had the chance to go to Los Angeles to see Harry Styles Love On Tour (HSLOT).

LA Day 1
We landed in LA on the evening of January 26, 2023. First impressions is that LA is very pretty. There are palm trees everywhere and the weather is warm. After we landed, we quickly went to our Airbnb to drop off our luggage, then immediately went to the Kia Forum, where the concert was taking place. His first show of the year was happening that night, and although our concert wasn’t until the next day, we went to buy tour merchandise in advance.
After buying the merchandise, we headed over to In and Out, where we had Animal Style fries and burgers. The meal was good, especially the fries. After that, we went to Crumbl Cookies, where we tried four different cookies: chocolate chip, Oreo, caramel cake (my favourite out of all of them), and pink sugar cookie. We ended off the night shopping at Target, then going to bed.

LA Day 2: Concert Day
We woke up very early to drive to the Beachwood Cafe. The Beachwood Cafe is mentioned in Harry Styles’ song called Falling, so we had to go. The food and coffee were very tasty and the neighbourhood that it was in was picturesque.
We spent the afternoon exploring Hollywood. We saw the Hollywood sign, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and visited different stores. After that, we headed back to the Airbnb to get ready for the concert.

We arrived at the Kia Forum very early; we killed time taking photos and admiring the venue.

HSLOT 2023 Concert Recap: January 27, 2023
Opener: Wet Leg
Wet Leg’s performance was excellent. They have a wide range of songs with varying vibes to each one, so I found their performance very enjoyable.

Harry Styles
Seeing Harry Styles live was an out of body experience. The energy in the entire venue was so high and everyone was having the time of their life.
One thing that I love about Harry’s live performances is the way his band changes the instrumentals of the songs. The band incorporates instruments such as the saxophone and the trumpet into the songs, which makes the song have a completely different feel to it. Additionally, Harry tends to change the notes for parts of his vocals. So the combination of the different instrumentals and the note changes in his singing creates a musical experience that is unique to his concert goers.

His stage presence is also amazing. He is constantly interacting with his fans. He waves at fans, reads their signs, and makes sure that everyone is doing okay. Even though there are thousands of other people in the audience with you, it is clear that he cares and appreciates each and everyone of us. He creates a safe space for his fans to feel comfortable being whoever they want to be. He is humble and expressed his appreciation for the audience several times during the concert. These qualities are rare for someone who is so big to have, and that is what makes his concert so special.
Although I don’t have any good videos to upload onto this blog post, @ Kimberly Levin on YouTube uploaded the entire concert.

Conclusion
This trip is something I will never forget. Seeing Harry Styles in concert was a bucket list item and I’m so thankful that I was able to see him live in LA. I hope that this is not the last time I see him in concert, because this is surely something I want to experience again.
